The history of the town Vrchlabi is connected with the settlement history of the Giant Mountains – the highest Czech mountains. Czech and the German name (Hohenelbe from about 1518) of the town is linked to its location on the upper flow of the Elbe.
Now, in Vrchlabi live 14000 inhabitants. We have some historical places in Vrchlabi for example chateau, church, monestery and our school . We have some kinderkarten, 3 schools for child from 7 to 15 years and one gymnasium. In town we have some companies and the most famous is Skoda company. Lot of people from Vrchlabi work in Skoda. Skoda makes cars for all the world.
Vrchlabi is near from Spindleruv mlyn (it is big ski areal where you can go ski, snowboard and so on). In the winter you can go and do everyhing what you want for example go to ice hockey arena and see the ice hockey or you can go skating. And in the summer you can play tennis,volleyball and swimm in pond or in Elbe and when you want to try czech beer so visit “Beer Festival .” And when you don’t like sports you can go tot he cinema or thaether. So visit Vrchlabi!
